Did you ever stop to think why (and how) noise from hotel corridors makes its way into your hotel room? Well here is a couple of example photos of how NOT to finish your door thresholds.  Any sort of a reasonable hotel door (with reasonable resistance to sound) would not stand a chance with a gap like this at the door threshold. Shocking stuff.
